Fractional IP Counsel
Having fractional IP counsel is similar to having an in-house IP attorney, but on a part time basis.

I can also join you for critical internal or external discussions, so that I have additional context for subsequent discussions with you.
IP Soundboarding for Inhouse Counsel

Patents
Managing outside counsel: I can help you manage outside counsel and help you address issues and concerns that arise from time to time:
• Are you pursuing a reasonable mix of aspirational and ordinary patent applications?
• Are you confident that you are receiving good advice from your outside IP counsel?
• Are you concerned that your outside counsel is shooting too high, or too low, when crafting claims and/or responses to office actions?
• Are you concerned about the cost/benefit ratio associated with pending or potential patent applications, filing applications in foreign jurisdictions, whether to appeal or accept adverse outcomes during patent prosecution?
Assisting with Prosecution: I can also assist with preparing claims, amendments to claims, and arguments for response to office actions, either on a regular basis, or for your most important patent applications.
Appeals: I have more experience with appeals before the USPTO and with oral proceedings and appeals in Europe than almost any other attorney in Silicon Valley. For applications that are on appeal, or appear likely to be headed to an appeal, having me as part of your team can improve your odds of obtaining valuable patent protection.
